Welcome to the HPLO Website!
The Historic Preservation League of Oregon is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization dedicated to protecting and preserving Oregon's heritage.
Click on the links to the left to learn more about our organization
and events.
Please check our calendar
for a list of current events.
We seek your suggestions!
As some of you may know, the HPLO has run into difficult
waters of late. We know that we have not been as active in the last
couple of years as we have in the past. But that is all going to
change soon! The Board of Directors is meeting in the next couple
of weeks to discuss the future and direction of our organization.
If you have any suggestions or ideas regarding preservation advocacy,
education, easement acquisition or anything else you think the HPLO
should be doing, please email HPLO's office manager, Amanda Waldroupe,
at awaldroupe@gmail.com. Thanks for your patience!
Open houses in Oregon for March
2008
Every month, Oregon Parks and Recreation makes available a list
of heritage sites throughout Oregon that are open to the public.
Check out their
website for a list of homes and buildings open in December that
you can visit to learn more about Oregon history and preservation!
The HPLO is alive and kicking!
Although you may not have heard from us in a while, the Historic
Preservation League of Oregon is still at work. The office staff
has changed, and we hope to get going soon on a newsletter, a lecture
series, bringing the website up to date, and other events. We are
also, of course, going to continue working on advocacy and protection
of Oregon's historic buildings by raising awareness and collecting
easements of historic buildings.
We appreciate your continued support; without it, our organization
simply would not exist. If you have any questions, comments, concerns
or suggestions about the website, the newsletter, or projects you
think we should be taking up, please email our office at contact@hplo.org.
Thanks to all of our donors and supporters for helping to keep
Historic Preservation alive!
